MICHAEL COYLE – Therapist and Owner

Michael graduated from Gannon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1997. He is certified by NBCOT and licensed by the State of South Carolina. Michael’s career has been dedicated to improving the lives and independence of the children and families he serves. His career has taken him to Massachusetts, Ohio, Georgia, and Pennsylvania where he was a lead therapist for an aquatic rehabilitation program. Michael then found himself in sunny Charleston where he founded Charleston Pediatric Rehabilitation in 2001.His vision for CPR is to facilitate a team of interdisciplinary pediatric therapists committed to providing innovative, child-focused care that promotes independence and success for the children of the Lowcountry. Michael is married to his wife Andrea and has two children, Finn (11) and Adelaide (10). He enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing hockey.

ASHTON WEBB
North Charleston

Ashton Webb has been an occupational therapist since September 2012. In 2012, she graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. Before that, she graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management. She has worked with the geriatric population in the long-term care setting for 2 ½ years. Recently, she has changed her career focus to working with children. Ashton enjoys working with children and is continually pursuing continuing education to further her career development as a pediatric therapist.

HANNAH GAITHER
(PART-TIME) WEST ASHLEY

Hannah was raised in the Charleston, SC area. After completing a business internship her junior year at college, she realized that a desk job was not her calling. She learned about the profession of occupational therapy while observing in local hospitals and outpatient clinics. From those first moments, she knew that occupational therapy was a perfect fit. After college, Hannah moved back to South Carolina to attend the Medical University of South Carolina where she received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy.

She enjoyed all of her occupational therapy courses, but seemed to gravitate towards the pediatric realm. While in graduate school, she spent time working with kids in a school system, a pediatric outpatient clinic, and a constraint-induced movement therapy camp. Her business plan focused on the importance of exercise/recess in the school system.

Since graduation, Hannah has been providing occupational therapy services to children throughout the Lowcountry. She loves being able to use “play” as a way to help children reach goals. She is certified by NBCOT and continually seeks to widen her knowledge base by attending relevant continuing education courses. Hannah spends her free time taking walks with her dog, spending time with her husband, and traveling both in the United States and abroad.

JENNIFER BOERNER– MOT, OTR/L, OT COORDINATOR
WEST ASHLEY

Jennifer was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Baylor University and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She is certified by NBCOT and licensed by the state of South Carolina. Her pediatric clinical experience includes working at outpatient clinics in both Texas and South Carolina, as well as providing services to children with complex cognitive and physical disabilities in a charter school setting.

Jennifer has always loved working with children and enjoys working with both the sensory and neuromotor populations. Her special interests include feeding therapy, neurological disabilities, and sensory processing difficulties. Some specialty courses she has attended include Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, SOS Approach to Feeding, Talk Tools Feeding Therapy, Practical Sense in Sensory Integration, Brain Gym, A Fresh Approach to Torticollis, Handwriting Without Tears, Myofascial Release, and Therapeutic Listening. Jennifer has a passion for learning novel treatment techniques and is informally trained in aquatic therapy, NDT, and serial casting. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys running, taking trips to the beach with her husband, and entertaining her yellow lab, Bluebell.

BRITTANY PERCY– COTA
West Ashley

Brittany was born and raised in Charleston, SC area. She received her Associates of Applied Science – Occupational Therapy Assistant from Trident Technical College in 2015. She is licensed by South Carolina and certified nationally by NBCOT. She has worked with children of many ages from 3 months up through teens both in homes and in outpatient clinic settings. Brittany is extremely passionate and has a background in working with children for 10 years. She has 5 years experience as an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) Therapist working with children on the Autism Spectrum. During this time, she discovered Occupational Therapy and grew to immediately love the profession.

She has taken many pediatric continuing education courses including: Practical Sense in Sensory Integration by Julia Harper, Sensory Integration Intensive by Jeannette Burpee, and Creating a Practice of Using Breath for Play and Healing by Irene Ingram, Recent Advances in Autism Spectrum Disorder by Laura Carpenter, and Guiding for Dynamic Competence: Tools and Techniques to Support Parents, Caregivers and Therapist in Guiding Children with ASD, ADHD, and Sensory Integration Disfunction to Success by Rebecca Doolittle McFalls.

In her free time, Brittany loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, and playing with her dog, Luke. She is an avid football fan and loves the Carolina Panthers.

JESSICA FAY– COTA
West Ashley

Jess Fay is originally from Hazlet, New Jersey. She attended Clemson University and completed a Bachelors of Science degree. After college, she moved back home and started working as an ABA therapist being trained by Dr. Carbone and his staff. She missed the south so much, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina and continued working as an ABA therapist in the Charleston public school system as well as home care for the next 10 years. Wanting to further her education she attended Trident Technical College and completed their COTA program. She graduated in May 2017 and began working at CPR in August 2017. In her free time, Jess loves sailing, hiking and playing kickball with her friends.

SALLY HARRIS
North Charleston

Sally was born and raised in the upstate area of SC. She received her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition at Clemson University and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. While at MUSC, she gained experience working with the pediatric population in outpatient therapy clinics and during a constraint-induced movement therapy camp. She is NBCOT certified and licensed by the state of South Carolina.
Sally has gained experience in multiple settings since becoming an Occupational Therapist including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient pediatrics. She has always had a passion for working with children and continually pursues learning opportunities in the field of pediatric occupational therapy. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, hiking, mountain biking, reading, traveling, and going to the beach.

Karina Sargavakian, MS OTR/L
North Charleston

Karena is the lead pediatric occupational therapist at our North Charleston Clinic. She graduated with her master’s in occupational therapy from the University of New Hampshire in 2014. She has experience working with children with various diagnoses and is motivated to promote engagement through play. She specializes in aquatic therapy, kinesiotaping, reflex integration, sensory integration, social thinking and is certified in the interactive metronome. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two dogs while exploring South Carolina.

Rachel Cousar, MHS, OTR/L
North Charleston

Rachel was born and raised in the greater Atlanta area. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in General Health Studies at the University of Alabama and her Master’s of Health Science in Occupational Therapy from Augusta University (Medical College of Georgia). She is certified by NBCOT and is licensed by the states of South Carolina and Georgia. While in graduate school, she gained pediatric clinical experience working in an outpatient clinic, hippotherapy, and aquatic settings, and at a camp for children with traumatic brain injuries. After becoming an occupational therapist, Rachel worked in an outpatient pediatric clinic in Atlanta for almost two years. Rachel has completed continuing education in the following areas: multidimensional strategies for sensory processing difficulties, developing effective sensory diets, integrating sensory and motor learning, pediatric yoga, treating oppositional and uncooperative behavior, and comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the child with Cerebral Palsy. Rachel loves being a pediatric OT because she gets to build relationships with kids and help them gain strength, function, and independence. In her free time, Rachel enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family.
