Aquatic Therapy

seastars_logoAquatic therapy is treatment performed in the water by qualified occupational, physical, and speech therapists. Specific elements of the water and clinically based techniques create an optimal environment for children to enhance their development in areas such as: motor planning, sensory processing, self-regulation, coordination, core strength, attention span, endurance, and range of motion.Sea Stars is Charleston Pediatric Rehabilitation’s aquatic therapy program that was developed specifically for children who are challenged by neurological and physical deficits. This program provides a motivational approach for children to reach their highest level of independence while having fun! We believe that building children’s self-esteem and self-confidence is the foundation to learning new skills.
